I’ve had a thrilling 28-year career as a travel writer and foreign correspondent, reporting from more than 60 countries for The Independent, The Guardian, The Observer, The Times (UK), The Daily Telegraph (Australia), Geographical Magazine and many more publications.

I have written five published books including Hotel Heaven: Confessions of a Luxury Hotel Addict, Heaven on Earth: In Search of the Next Travel Nirvana and the Bradt Guide to Tasmania.

Originally from Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK, I live mainly in my adopted home of Australia but for three or four months a year I am where I really belong… on the road.
